Jodi's Story
Why did you become a financial advisor?
As an advisor, I can be directly involved in making a difference in people’s lives and their major life decisions, like sending kids to college or buying their first house. It is a rewarding part of the job, counseling people along in their lives.
While under the umbrella of an incredible firm, my role as an advisor offers me autonomy from the flexibility in how I structure my day to independence in how I run my business.
Why did you choose Baird?
My path was not linear. I earned my undergraduate degree in music. Early in my career, I became the CIO of bank. Then, that bank was bought by another bank, and I had to a decision to make: I had worked with Baird while employed at the bank, and I loved learning about the markets, so I decided to apply for a position as a client specialist. 27 years later, I’m still here.
At Baird, I had mentors that opened doors for me and incredible colleagues who supported me. I’m fortunate to be surrounded by people who have the best intentions for all parties involved, which I’ve learned is not the case at every firm.
